Tree planting at Dalyup (WA)

TREES PLANTED

Hello Colleen, Thanks to Fifteen Trees supporters, we have been able to plant out 300 trees along the creek line at Dalyup. We have been working at this site for some time and the area was a very badly degraded spot before fencing and planting. Our local high school students pitched in on the day to help plant. Dorothy Henderson Executive Officer, Esperance Regional Forum, Esperance WA. IMG_3529 Dalyup is a small town in Western Australia located about 680 kilometres east of Perth. The town takes its name from the Dalyup River that is situated adjacent to the town. The name is Aboriginal in origin and thought to be the word for the Australian King Parrot. 1280px-Alisterus_scapularis_-Commonwealth_Park,_Canberra,_Australia_-male-8 The 300 trees supplied to Dorothy and her team have come a number of wonderful individuals and companies. Long time supporters of Fifteen Trees are Angus & Celeste. This beautiful on-line shop selling handcrafted ceramic and porcelain products, contributes $1.00 to Fifteen Trees for every purchase. One hundred and fifty of the 300 trees at this site come directly from this artistic duo Keir Mac Donald and Asha Cato. Scott Smith, wanted some trees planted as birthday gifts for partner Christine Wright (60 trees) and daughter Megan (10 trees). Christine is always purchasing trees as gifts for friends, so it is nice to see some being planted solely for her. Happy Birthday Christine and Megan. Prof Charles Taliaferro from St Olaf College in Minnesota USA, is my #1 international customer! Charles regularly contacts me to plant trees for his students. Charles recently wrote ‘this term could you please plant 45 trees to honor my students in the environmental ethics classes‘. Charles your trees (45) have gone to a tiny town in WA. Thank you once again for your continued support of the Australian environment from so far away. Charles wanted his students in a roll call. Here they are … Renato, Terra, Hannah, Annibelle, Nathan, Angela, Angeline, Dick, Daniel, Jillianna, Curtis, Ivan, Noise, Ann, Ronald, William Alexander, Tolley, Keven Garnett, Face Plam, Johnny, Leslie, Steve, Zach, It’sonus, Sam, Khumba, Taylor, Lauren, Jerius, Kelsie and John, Kristina, Darlene, Natalie, Jake, Bill, Birkie, Helen, Baldrica, Curve Rises, Steve, Jane, Nancy, Susanne, Mike and last but not least … Eleonore. My niece Pip, owns wonderful party and balloon shop in Melbourne (called Partycles). One regular customer is the ‘modern guru’ himself Danny Katz. Pip supports many local schools with free balloons for their fundraising days and has recently adopted 2 rescue dogs from the local pound. Pip has asked me to plant 30 trees to help reduce the carbon emissions from her 2 work vehicles. Done! The last 15 trees (those with a mathematical brain will already have worked that out) come from Andrew Grant from Golden Nugget Discovery Tours. Andrew conducts small eco-tours around Victoria and South Eastern Australia. Once again Andrew, thank you for your ongoing support. To all my supporters a heart-felt thank you and virtual hug! Pip, you’ll get yours at our next family do! Slainte – Colleen
