Trees planted for Russell Brothers.

TREES PLANTED

Geoff Russell from Russell Brothers Funeral Directors has generously supported the planting of 50 native trees near his coastal home of Mentone. These trees have been planted as a community kindness on behalf of the families who have lost loved ones this year.

Due to Geoff’s support, Johan De Bree from the Frankston Beach Association was able to plant an extra 50 trees when his group of volunteers worked at the reserve last month.

Foreshore planting at Frankston.

Johan planted a local species of Banksia on the foreshore just north of the Frankston Sailing Club. These trees are ideal for coastal environments as they can withstand the salt air and poor soils.  Their flowers and seeds will be a food source for local wildlife such as bees, birds and mammals.
