When IAS Recruitment were investigating ways to contribute to the wellbeing of the planet and do their part for the environment, they stumbled across us. And we are very glad they did. As a result, 60 native trees and shrubs are now in the ground in beautiful tropical Queensland due to their support.
When it comes to supporting environmental initiatives, we’re always looking for ways to contribute to the well-being of our country and do our part for the environment. Some of the steps we’ve taken include using energy-efficient office spaces, going digital to reduce paper usage, and opting for environmentally friendly transportation. We also prioritise virtual meetings to cut down on travel, and we’ve established green partnerships to further our sustainability goals. In addition, we participate in recycling and the Containers for Change program.
Therefore supporting Australian tree planting projects is a natural extension of our ongoing commitment to environmental conservation, with the added benefit of being able to see our trees grow in the years to come, which we think is really cool.

The 60 native plants went along Thistle Road in Maadi, QLD (Djiru Country) by local community group Brettacorp Inc. Over 35 difference native species of trees and shrubs were planted at the site. Trees included: Alexander Palm, Blue Quandong, Queensland Maple, Blue Ginger, Dianella, Black Bean, Cordyline, Flame Tree, Figs, Glochidon, Ulysses Butterfly Tree, Umbrella Tree and Acacia.
Over time, these trees will improve the local waterways dramatically and lead to longer water retention across the seasons as well as providing homes for frogs and other small aquatic insects. This reforestation project will eventually extend and connect native remnant forest and fully rejuvenate the site with native flora.
Some of the native animals that will benefit from this project include; Southern Cassowary, Broad-shouldered Dove, Emerald Dove, Imperial Pigeon, Bee Eaters, Currajongs, Sun Birds, Scrub Fowls, Eagles, Kites, Hawks, Bats, Green Frog species, and native mice and small marsupials. This area is also home to the Ulysses Butterfly, and the Cairns Birdwing Butterfly. This area is an absolute paradise.
A huge thank you to sponsors of our revegetation project for helping us create new habitat that supports endangered species in the Cassowary Coast region of Tropical North Queensland. With your help we are making homes and providing food for our native fauna.
