Birch’s Creek

TREES PLANTED

“Hi Colleen, In the backgrounds you will see the damage the floods have caused .. the area was under about two metres of water so hopefully those trees just planted will help stabilize the bank. A lot of water was wash(ed) down into the creek in the heavy downpours. It came down from Lord Harry Hill. So thank you for your offer of these trees, they will grow into a wonderful picture into the future and will naturally work to complement our  environment for many years.  Keep up your good work”.   R.C. The trees planted in Smeaton on the Birch Creek were generously paid for by two Ballarat real estate agents. Ann Edgar from Edgar Real Estate carbon offset 1 company car which enabled 15 trees to be planted. While, Tony Douglas from Hocking Stuart Real Estate carbon offset 3 of the company cars thereby enabling 45 trees to be planted on this property. All up 60 trees were planted in the past few weeks. Research has shown (Newspoll ’08) that customers want businesses to take the lead on climate change. The two fore-mentioned real estate agents have taken up the green challenge and are to be commended for their willingness to support ‘fifteen trees’ and their local farming community. Colleen
