The Green Question

We are all trying our best at treading a little lighter on the Earth; some of us are truly inspirational while some of us – well aren’t quite there yet. But there is one thing we all can do that could have a huge positive impact.

In a survey conducted in 2008 by Newspoll, it was revealed that 90% of customers want companies to take the lead on climate change. And when I conducted my own survey (well I asked around at a birthday party) I found the same thing – people want companies to be ‘doing something positive for the environment’.

Anita was well known for the importance she placed on communities and the environment.

So, what can we do? How can we get companies to become more responsible towards the environment? I suggest you ‘ask the green question’.  Do you have a green policy? Is your chicken free range? Is the fish from a sustainable source? Why are you serving coffee in a disposable cup (hello Gloria Jeans)?

Employees will soon be reporting back to the managers and owners that people are ‘asking the green question’. And from our questioning we will hopefully see real changes happening within the companies we all do business with.

Have you got your own favorite ‘green question’ that maybe has your friends rolling their eyes every time they go out with you? Shoot it through to me and let’s get a list of questions we can have ‘at the ready’.
