Towards the end of winter, over Gippsland way, 225 trees were planted through the generosity of local building company G.J. Gardner Homes Sale. The trees went to 2 sites, 115 to Nicki and Peter Jennings in Giffard West and another 110 trees to Elizabeth Balderstone at Warrigal Creek. As Elizabeth was the recipient of the State Landcare Award (2014) we know these trees are in very good hands. Nicki writes ..  Hi Colleen, A team of office staff from GJG Sale, (including the boss Anthony Ruff) came out this afternoon to plant 115 trees. It was lovely to have them involved in such positive and generous work. The sun shone and it was all done in a friendly and chatty way. We also shared some refreshments which rounded off a great afternoon. The trees are all from local seed and a local nursery. They are the same species growing in the adjoining roadside vegetation where some of the seed was collected. The planting which is part of a greater 750 m long planting will help improve and protect the roadside vegetation. Thank you for involving us in Fifteen Trees. Thank you to Anthony and the team from GJG Sale for not only paying for the trees but also for heading out to 2 properties to help plant them.
