We love an obvious link between the things we consume and the ways we can offset our consumption. And could there be anything simpler than planting trees to make up for the paper we use? Newington College in NSW has decided to apply this elegant solution to its 2020 paper usage. This thoughtful school has recently purchased 90 trees from Fifteen Trees, in recognition of the fact that its unavoidable [...]

The Western Program Alliance (WPA) is a project team with a particularly specialised skillset – it is very good at removing level crossings. The WPA comprises McConnell Dowell, Arup and Mott Macdonald, Metro Trains Melbourne, VLine and the Level Crossing Removal Project. In amongst all their work is a strong vein of environmental action, from sourcing sustainable materials, to exploring more Earth-friendly alternatives, to setting up recycling and other ethical waste [...]

Some of our tree planting partners are quietly racking up whole forests. G.J. Gardner Homes is one of our strongest supporters, having planted 63,000 trees with us over the past 8 years. That impressive number comes as a result of G.J. Gardner planting 15 trees for every home it builds in Tasmania and Victoria. And as a well-established building company with a reputation for quality and reliability, it is a popular choice. [...]

... and planted a native forest!   We think ending 2020 with a wedding is a beautiful symbol of hope and resilience. It’s even better when the couple getting married have decided to plant trees to mark the occasion.   On 31 December Emelie and Peter will celebrate their love in front of a small group of family and friends at Point Lonsdale in Victoria. Even though Covid logistics have [...]

Did you know that an average of 50kg of high-grade paper per office worker is thrown out every year? And that this generally goes straight to landfill? It’s a shocking statistic. Luckily, there are many ways to reduce the waste and, as a result, the impact of white-collar work on the environment. Viatek is a company that takes waste seriously. This comes partly from a genuine commitment to reducing waste, [...]

We are very privileged when asked to plant trees in the memory of a beloved parent, sibling or friend. And this was certainly the feeling when we were approached by Sue Myatt to plant 3,000 trees in memory of her brother David Gerard Carey (6th June 1963 - 20th December 2019). In consultation with Sue, the trees were distributed to 3 Victorian sites, The Otways, Bellarine Peninsula and Mt Worth. [...]
