Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013. By the end of this year, Ross and the team at GJG will have helped plant over 56,000 trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year alone, the relationship between G.J. Gardner Homes and Fifteen Trees, will see over 11,000 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups.
The partnership with Fifteen Trees, allows G.J. Gardner teams to go into the field for some team building activities as well as giving some support to the local community.
Scott Doughty and Judy Corcoran from G.J. Gardner Homes Mornington are generous supporters of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year Scott, Judy and their team purchased 300 trees for Paul Di Natale and the Coolart Creek Landcare Group, The trees were planted at Merricks (Vic) with the aid of the landcare group, Paul and his family and a team from G.J. Gardner.
Thank you to the team from our local G.J. Gardner Homes. Not only did they purchase our 300 trees but they come out to help us plant them too.
We planted the trees on some land that had been heavily cleared years ago. Through this revegetation project we hope to return at least 50% of the cleared land back to mother earth. We believe we need to return land taken back to the flora and fauna that owned it. We hope to Increase the bio-diversity and help everything get back into sync.
We see our role as only custodians of this small space.
Paul Di Natale | Coordinator | Coolart Creek Landcare Group
Thank you Scott and Judy for enabling this project to go ahead by purchasing 300 native trees and shrubs for Chris and his hardworking group of volunteers. Thank you also for heading out for a day to actually plant the trees. Thank you to Paul for finding a site and co-ordinating the planting with the Coolart Creek Landcare Group, GJG and Austplant Nursery.
