Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013. By the end of this year, Ross and the team at GJG will have helped plant over 56,000 trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year alone, the relationship between G.J. Gardner Homes and Fifteen Trees, will see over 11,000 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups.
The partnership with Fifteen Trees, allows G.J. Gardner teams to go into the field for some team building activities as well as giving some support to the local community.
Adam and Simone Gregor from G. J. Gardner Homes Wodonga are generous supporters of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year Adam, Simone and their team purchased 810 trees for Anne Stelling and the Huon Creek Landcare Group. The trees were planted in August, by Anne and the local community around Wodonga (Vic).
Huon Creek Landcare Group were very pleased to find a home for 810 donated trees in a newly fenced restoration site at Huon Creek. A community planting day was held on Sunday 11th August, with members of the Landcare group gathering on site to plant and guard a variety of local native tree species. The weather held for a morning of planting, with volunteers then happy to welcome the coming rain which will see the trees off to a good start. These trees are expected to help retain soil and decrease erosion in a degraded landscape, as well as increase the productive and habitat values in an area that was over-cleared many years ago.
Our heart-felt appreciation once again for this generous support for Landcare from our friends at G.J. Gardner Homes Wodonga.
