Trees at Lake Charm.

Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013. By the end of this year, Ross and the team at GJG will have helped plant over 56,000 trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year alone, the relationship between G.J. Gardner Homes and Fifteen Trees, will see over 11,000 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups.

The partnership with Fifteen Trees, allows G.J. Gardner teams to go into the field for some team building activities as well as giving some support to the local community.

Darren and Bronwyn Hinton from G.J. Gardner Homes Swan Hill are generous supporters of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year Darren and Bronwyn purchased 300 trees for their local area. The trees were planted at Charm Hill by the Murray Mallee Landcare Group and Lake Charm Primary School.

tree planting

A small group of volunteers planted a mixture of native trees and shrubs, purchased for us by the local G.J. Gardner Homes. Volunteers had prepared the ground earlier in the week by rotary hoeing, slashing and spraying. We also left 20 trees for the students of Lake Charm Primary School to come and plant later in the week. It was such a successful day and we received a lot of positive comments. Looking forward to planning another tree planting day in 202 so the more locals can come and join in and continue to add to the established plantation on Charm Hill.

Big thanks to G.J. Gardner for supplying us with these trees.

Thank you Darren and Bronwyn for enabling this project to go ahead by purchasing 300 native trees and shrubs for this site. Thank you also to Gaby for finding a site and co-ordinating the planting with the Murray Mallee Landcare Network and Mildura Native Nursery (where the trees were sourced).
