‘I’d like to go by climbing a birch tree’.

Maree and Brian from Harrison Funerals (Ballarat) have been long time supporters of the local community through Fifteen Trees. For every service, Fifteen Trees organises one mature tree to planted in a public space. We have been planting trees on the behalf of Harrison Funerals since 2010 and to date, over 500 mature trees have been planted by community groups in and around Ballarat due to this generous couple.

The most recent planting for Harrisons took place by students, parents and staff at Delacombe PS. The school was very appreciative of the 25 mature trees for their school grounds. They were planted around the buildings and play area. The students learnt how to ‘dig in for the environment‘ (Planet Ark), and had fun getting grubby by planting the 25 trees. There are positive microbes that kids can only pick up in soil. And that is a good thing.

Earth’s the right place for love
I don’t know where it’s likely to go better.
I’d like to go by climbing a birch tree,
And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk
Toward heaven

Massive shout-out to Maree and Brian Harrison from Harrison Funerals for their continued support of the local schools in and around the district of Ballarat. By the way, all their trees are sourced from Jo and Dave from Avalon Nursery. Another couple with an eye open as to how they can support the community who supports them.

Finding such amazing people is one of the great things about running a small business like Fifteen Trees.
