Peter Thompson from Thompson Family Funeral Directors in Castlemaine as been working with Fifteen Trees since 2012, to help improve the native environment of the Central Highlands district of Victoria. The funeral home has one tree planted for every service. This year, Peter’s trees were planted next to the Muckleford Rail Station, Central Victoria.

Here are John Blake, Sue Luke and Eddie Harvey inspecting the plantings adjacent to Muckleford Rail station. You will see the manner of the site preparation ( in heavy clay soil) and the tree guards after the planting. Mount Alexander Vintage Engine Club has acquired  a small parcel of land adjacent to the Rail site in order to set up sheds and compounds for machinery displays and enthusiast’s rallies. These trees will provide much needed shade in years to come.  We are thinking, planning and building for the future. It was good to have the support of Thompson Family Funerals and Fifteen Trees.

George Milford | Assistant Secretary | Mount Alexander Vintage Engine Club

Thank you Peter for your on-going support of our native environment. Your trees (100) have gone to a wonderful home at Muckleford. Sue Luke and her team have done a great job in planting the trees and ensuring they have been guarded and protected.
