Ballarat Tree Planting by G. J. Gardner Homes Ballarat.

TREES PLANTED

Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has helped plant 34,000 trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year, the project will see over 8,500 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups.   GJGLogo_NO-TAG_WHITE_BG_lrg Rob McMaster from G. J. Gardner Homes Ballarat is a generous supporter of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year, Rob purchased 1080 trees for Nick McKinley and the Leigh Catchment Group. The trees went out to a number of sites around the Ballarat district, including Elaine, Ross Creek and Napoleons.   [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”]

The Upper Williamsons Creek Landcare Group planted their trees on the 27th of July 2017 along Williamsons Creek in Elaine. The plants were a mixture of plant species that included Eucalyptus species and local acacias to enhance the riparian zone along the Creek. These trees will help improving the water quality in the creek and provide habitat from native wildlife, in an area that was affected by the Scotsburn Bushfire in 2015. We had students and staff from Convenant College (Geelong) come out to help plant the trees. The Ross Creek Landcare Group held their National Tree Planting Day on Friday the 28th of July 2017 at the Ross Creek Recreation Reserve. The plants were a mixture of plant species that included Eucalyptus species. The Group hope that these trees will self-regenerate in the future. The day was attended by four Ross Creek Landcare Group members, 3 staff from Bunnings and 12 Students from Damascus College, Ballarat. Thank you to Rob and his team from G.J. Gardner Homes Ballarat for the generous donation of these trees. Nick McKinely | Landcare Coordinator | Leigh Catchment Group

In 2015, these districts were devastated by bushfire. Landcare groups have been working tirelessly to revegetate the area back to the pre-fire days. Many thanks to G.J. Gardner Homes and in particular the great team from GJG Ballarat for the plants to enable this to happen. Slàinte – Colleen[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
