Seven new mature trees have been planted at 2 Ballarat sites this month thanks to the generosity of Maree and Brian Harrison (Harrison Funerals). Through Fifteen Trees, Maree and Brian plant one mature tree for every funeral service held at their Main Rd premises. This year alone, Fifteen Trees have organised the planting of 80 mature trees at schools and public spaces on the behalf of Harrison Funerals.

Hi Colleen,

A very big thank you to the Harrisons on behalf of the Brown Hill Community Swimming Pool Committee. The trees (4 mature) we received were planted strategically around the grounds of the pool to increase the shade cover and  shelter for our keen patrons each summer. We planted 2 plane trees and 2 ornamental pears so we hope they take off. You cannot beat a tree for real shade and they actually cool the air under them as well. Thank you so much for this generous donation and please come and cool off with us over the summer if you are in the vicinity.

Another 3 mature trees were planted by Principal Calvin Tromp at Skipton PS. Three large trees needed removing due to their roots infiltrating and cracking one of the historic buildings. The school children planted some bare rooted trees (whose roots are more containable) further away from the building. Skipton PS choose deciduous trees so they will provide summer shade and allow winter sun on the lawn.
