Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has helped plant over 25,000 trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year, the project will see over 8,500 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups.GJGLogo_NO-TAG_WHITE_BG_lrg

This year, the Swan Bay Environment Association and Bellarine Catchment Network celebrated the 6th Annual Bellarine Rail Trail re-vegetation day at Fellows Rd.

This event attracts local residents from the Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale townships but also from further afield.  The Queenscliff Primary School once again attended the day and had a number of willing tree planters participate in the day.  400 indigenous coastal plants were planted including Knobby Club Rush, Karkalla and Coast Flax Lily.  These plants make up Coastal Saltmarsh EVC and help to provide habitat for species such as the Orange-bellied Parrot which is listed as Critically Endangered.

The day is supported through GJ Gardner Homes. This support allows community projects like these to come to fruition.  Each year the plantings are extended with previous plantings weeded and maintained.
