Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has since helped plant 1000’s of trees across Victoria and Tasmania. Each office in the 2 states plant 15 trees for every new home built. This year, this will add up to over 7,000 trees for schools, landcare and various environmental groups.
Di and Brad Stanbrook from G.J Gardner Homes Mildura are huge supporters of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year, they purchased 615 trees for Sunraysia TAFE (215) and Red Cliffs & District Community Landcare Group (400).
Lauren Carr from Sunraysia TAFE writes – “Students from the Sunraysia Institute of TAFE in Mildura have been busy planting trees at the local Etiwanda Wetlands as a part of their studies in Conservation and Land Management. The Etiwanda Wetlands is a system used to treat up to 2/3 of Mildura’s stormwater, prior to being discharged into the Murray River. The system provides habitat for many waterbird species as they stop over on their annual migrations around the world. It wasn’t all smooth sailing for our hard working students, with over 30mm of rain falling two days prior to planting making conditions quite muddy and sticky! Planting was delayed for a week, and fortunately mother nature put on a beautiful sunny Mildura morning for us. Staff and students would like to thank G.J. Gardner Homes for supplying the trees for the project, and the Mildura Rural City Council for providing us with a site to plant the trees and providing assistance with ongoing watering and maintenance.”.
