Professor Charles Taliaferro from St Olaf College in Minnesota USA has been such a great supporter of our tree planting efforts here in ‘the land down under’. This time round, Charles wanted 15 trees planted on the behalf of – Heidi and Ivy; Tony and Becky; Kris and Jilm; Noricko and Stephen; Tom and Katie; Almut; Katie and Tom; Alex; Jared; Barclay; Eric and Liz; Audry; Marcus; Dr. Sally Engebritson and Dr. Todd Shea.
Charles has gifted these trees in gratitude to friends who, in his words, ‘stopped me from going barking mad‘. In the interest of keeping Charles sane, can I send a heart felt thanks to this group. Nice work folks in looking after the good professor.
The 15 trees have been planted at Myrnion Creek as part of a bigger Landcare project. On the day, 90 adults and children planted 1850 trees. This is a beautiful part of Victoria with an active Landcare group called The Pentland Hills. This group have been established for over 45 years. The dynamic township itself is located 50 km south west of Melbourne and is nestled amongst market gardens.
Once again, thank you Charles for all your interest in this little company which is probably as far away from Minnesota as you can get.
