All in!
Creative kids.

Sunday 1st September 2013 Wattle Day.

Dear Colleen,

It was a beautiful spring morning at the Gordon Craig Park in Wodonga. The planting event was organized by the Friends of Felltimber Creek group – a community group who are interested in restoring the health of Felltimber Creek. Twenty people (including families with children), came along to help. Most were from the homes adjoining the park, but staff from G.J. Gardiner Homes Wodonga also pitched in. We planted 360 trees and shrubs in four ‘island’ style plantings beneath groups of Eucalyptus trees. The kids had a great time helping out, especially collecting empty tubes and making towers and arches with them (see above). We were finished by lunch time and all went home satisfied that it was a job well done; holes dug, plants in, stakes in to identify them, all watered by bucket straight from the creek, and a temporary string line marking the new plantings. Our aim is to create a whole supportive ecosystem beneath these lonely trees, ensuring their health as they grow into grand old specimens for future residents to enjoy! Many thanks to Fifteen Trees and G. J. G. for making this possible.

Regards Anne Stelling (Friends of Felltimber Creek).

A beautiful setting.
A beautiful setting.
Thank you to Adam Gregor and the team from G. J. Gardner Homes Wodonga for donating the funds to enable these trees and shrubs to be planted. From all accounts it was a fabulous day. Your assistance on the day was very much appreciated by the Friends of Felltimber Creek.  Slainte – Colleen  [/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
